
Our Story
Dr. Sheila Cordazzo
Dr. Sheila T. D. Cordazzo, Ph.D. is the founder of Cordazzo Psychology and a registered Psychologist with more than 20 years of experience working with children, teenagers, families and adults regarding different issues to improve their mental and emotional wellbeing. She originally hails from Brazil where she worked as a Registered Psychologist in private practice and in school environments.

Her career also includes a specialization in Psycho-education and experience working with ADHD, Learning Disabilities, Autism, and other cognitive and developmental issues. Using evidence-based approaches, Dr. Cordazzo works with clients who have battled with their struggles in a compassionate and multicultural approach.
Dr. Cordazzo is registered with the College of Alberta Psychologists (CAP) and is a member of Psychologists' Association of Alberta, Canada. Currently Dr. Cordazzo is seeing her clients at Synergea Family Health Centre located in NW Calgary, and can provide services in English and Portuguese. Online sessions are also available.
Kathryn Ring, (MACP, BHSc)
Kathryn’s personal and professional journey offers experience in relationships, bereavement, trauma, anxiety, depression, addictions and other areas of mental health. She obtained a degree in Addictions Counselling in 2000, and has since worked closely with substance abuse and behavioural addictions. She later went on to receive a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology to advance her competencies in working with the complexities of couple and family relationships, and efficacy in working with other mental health concerns.

Kathryn incorporates practices of Dialectical Behavioural Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, and Solution-Focused practices with the intent of supporting individuals/couples/families in the development of wisdom and skill in managing challenges and adverse life circumstances.
Kathryn’s nonjudgmental approach and open-minded beliefs offer respect toward unique personal characteristics. From a philosophical posture, her belief is that each person is an expert in their own life. She sees her role as a fellow traveler meant to walk alongside the client in their journey towards purpose, facilitating presence and mindfulness in the here and now.
Karina Bermudez
Karina Bermudez is a registered provisional psychologist with
a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and a master's degree in
Counselling. She has experience in the mental health sector
working with children, teens, groups, and adults dealing with
various issues such as anger management, domestic violence,
burnout, anxiety, depression, trauma, life transitions,
low self-esteem, loss and grief, marital conflict and other
concerns. Additionally, she has experience working with a team
of professionals supporting children with learning disabilities in school settings.
Karina is originally from Panama and has lived in different countries and provinces, allowing her to work and connect with a diverse population with an open mind. She uses theories such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Solution Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) and Client- Center therapy. In addition, Karina is empathetic and passionate about supporting and accompanying clients in their healing journey. Karina can provide psychological services in English, French and Spanish.
